Beliefs.
Go ahead and call me uncool, unintellectual, backwards, or whatever, but I don’t understand the preoccupation (of some people on Tumblr) with putting down religious beliefs. That is fine if you believe something different than I do. I don’t have a problem with it. Why do you? Just because somebody believes something different than you doesn’t mean they are stupid, tortured, or...

how to... [twitter]
is there a way to only send @ replies to your cell phone? i know you can set it to receive tweets only from certain people. or only for direct messages. I set up twittermail to email me @ responses (and then forward those to my phone) but the delay between when the response and the email are sent is too great. it seems like somebody must have found a way around this problem.

Google backs 'white space' wi-fi →
roamin:
BBC NEWS: Technology
Google is pressing the US government to allow the unlicensed frequencies of TV “white space” to be used for wi-fi.
The firm has written an open letter to regulators saying the US spectrum was a “once in a lifetime opportunity”. White space is unused blocks of frequencies in-between channels broadcast on analogue airwaves.

My husband logged with Gustafson Logging for a while. Darrell was his boss. His first month logging he lost 30 lbs. He was a choker-setter.
He ended up deciding to quit after a couple of very bad, near death experiences. I’m glad he isn’t logging anymore.

eh
i am so worn out today. why do holidays/holiday weekends make me feel so exhausted? :/ i need to sleep or just relax…
Good Friday: Why Good?
squashed:
Before criticising something, it is worth making an honest effort to understand it. (The hating what you don’t understand schtick is a long human tradition, but not a particularly noble one.) And if you want to mock Christians (and doesn’t everybody once in a while?) that means understanding understanding Good Friday. It’s unquestionably one three most important Christian...

Tribute
this is the tribute from my mom and her siblings for my grandfather on the day of his funeral. ran across this today while searching through old emails.
my grandfather was amazing. not a perfect man, but a great man. he loved his family. he loved God. he was an example of faith in action and living what you believe in practice and in theory. he was kind and wise. i miss him. i think everyone...

yikes!
when i don’t post much i lose a few followers. when i post more often i gain a few. it is funny.
just an observation.
the rest (followers/unfollowers) seems to be much more random. but the truth is i don’t really write or post with other people in mind, so much of it is mundane, average my-life stuff or things i am interested in. and i’m pretty okay with that.
working at home
is wonderful. but sometimes difficult. like when you are trying to hold a business phone meeting while your 3-year-old (who is supposed to be playing outside quietly) has decided to go “swimming” (in puddles) in the backyard. and then tries to come in the house, drenched and dripping all over the floor.
so, i am stripping his clothes off, still trying to concentrate on work and hold...
