Watching some HGTV. It seems like it is harder for me to get to sleep on Sunday nights…maybe it is thinking about everything I’ve gotta get done Monday (or maybe the English Breakfast Tea for dinner).

Green and Me
Green is not something I’ve always been interested in. I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest my entire life and it took me until my mid-20’s to care more than a little and until my late-20’s to care enough to start changing my life. When I was growing up “Environmentalist” was a bad word, with negative connotations - somebody who cared about nature or animals...

Portland's Wi-Fi network coming down →
I live a couple of hours away from Portland so (obviously) I never used this but it is really cool they tried it out. I wish my town had free wi-fi - ad supported would be fine by me!! Sad it didn’t work out - it is a neat idea.

You’re not the only one. 2. Don’t make assumptions - I’m sure that most of the world’s fights and problems would be resolved if we stopped making assumptions. All of them. 3. Movies
Finally got around to watching Juno last night. After so many people loving it and others thinking it was not-so-great I wasn’t sure what I’d think of it. I really enjoyed it - more than I expected to. Watched The Bucket List tonight. I also liked this movie…but probably less than I liked Juno.

Disqus Blog » A Commenter’s Rights →
So what are a commenter’s rights? I’m going to make an initial attempt to materialize what some rights should be. a) The ability to edit and remove their comments b) Access to all of their comments, even if it has been deleted on a blog c) The right to use their own comments as blog posts. After all, a commenter is just a publisher not writing on his own website. d) A life for the comment beyond...

Here's what I think...
Barack Obama won the Democratic primary election because he captured the heart and imagination of the American people. He won through inspiration. Hillary Clinton didn’t lose because she is a woman. I am not trying to take that away from him. He deserves the place he is in as the nominee - he earned it. Obama wasn’t sexist. But I think the media has without a doubt treated Hillary...

Apologetically American
heather-rivers: I love traveling, meeting people from all over the world, and comparing and contrasting our respective life experiences. It’s a fun and fascinating process and I’ve made some very good friends along the way. But this year, being the only American in most situations, I’ve grown so weary of apologizing for where I was born. In particular, whenever I find myself in a group of...
