i have been blogging for a while. 1999 to be exact. i have had way too many blogs. *laugh* some temporary and others a much longer love affair. i remember back when blogs were really more of a diary. when you were supposed to be hush-hush about your identity. when you could just pour out your soul to a group of subscribing strangers with little fear of judgment. after all these people don’t know you in real life or anything. and then came the blogs that were essentially chapters in your day or life where everyone knows your name. your best friend probably reads. and that guy you went to high school with. and maybe even your mom. :)

i gave up my comfortable, anonymous existence around 2005. traded it for myspace. and social networking in general. and the ability to build and maintain connections with people i know (or have the ability to know) in my everyday life.

but i mourned it. the loss of this freedom of totally open expression. and i wish sometimes i could just type the words without so much as a thought.
