was thinking about making a dvr with my computer. it sounded easy at first. but now i am confused. i want to connect my digital cable and record that to the hard drive. but i don’t think my provider (charter) does clear qam. so does that mean i can only connect the digital cable through the av inputs? will i still be able to use the dvr/pvr features like commercial skipping and setting programs to be recorded ahead or will i have to manually record things?

i’m confused. bah.
