Allowing commenting is almost always a bad idea, as eloquently written here. If someone wants to respond to something I’ve posted, they can either do so on their own blog, or email me. If they’re too lazy to do either of those, then there’s a good chance I wouldn’t have cared about what they had to say anyway.

i can’t say i exactly agree, but i think this is a common sentiment with a lot of tumbleloggers. but i think there are also a lot of others who want some form of 2-way communication whether it is traditional blog comments or the mystery solution being hinted at by the davidville people. personally, these days, i use email only to communicate for professional purposes and with people who aren’t into blogging or online social networking. email is (honestly) pretty boring to me. i’m not sure what that says about me as a person. haha. :)
